Whitefriars Style Drunken Bricklayer Amber Glass Vase British English 1960s 1970s Vintage Retro
Amber Yellow Cased Glass Vase - Copy of Whitefriars’ Famous Drunken Bricklayer Vase
The iconic ‘Drunken Bricklayer’ vase was designed by Geoffrey Baxter for English glass maker Whitefriars and produced in the 1960s/70s.
After Whitefriars closed in 1980, demand for this stylish design continued and other glass producers made their own versions of it.
These copies are so similar, and of such high quality, that Whitefriars collectors often can not tell them apart.
Original versions of these vases sell at extremely high prices, so this is a chance to own this amazing design at a much lower price.
Believed to be made in the 1980s/90s.
Approximately 21cm high and 9cm wide and 7cm deep.
Excellent vintage condition with no chips and only very minor signs of age.
We are specialist sellers, and also collectors of glass, so you can be confident in the accuracy of our descriptions - we aim for our buyers to receive items in the same or better condition than they were expecting, and our reviews should illustrate this.

Note that we have attempted to show and state the condition as accurately as possible but this is a pre-loved, vintage item and some minor signs of age and/or use are to be expected. There may also be slight variations in the colours shown due to lighting, the camera lens and the device the image is viewed through.
Handmade items may have slight imperfections, such as air bubbles in glass, which add to their uniqueness and charm.
