Vintage Orange Ball Pendant Ceiling Lamp

Danish orange pendant lamp from the 1970s

This style became extremely popular in Denmark in the 1960s and many Danish lighting companies produced a variant.

This particular design features a rim of white plastic which gives it a very atomic era look.

Made in Denmark in the 1960s/70s, possibly by ES Horn.

Good full working vintage condition with some signs of age including scratches and heat-bubbling to the painted finish which is shown in the photos.

Approximately 17cm wide at its widest point and 15cm high.

Rewired with 2 metres of black fabric cable.

Takes a E27 lightbulb, maximum 60w (not included). We recommend using an LED lightbulb as the metal housing can get very hot with an incandescent bulb.

* If used in the USA/100/110/120v we recommend using energy saving/LED lightbulbs. E26 bulbs should fit although because they are 1mm smaller you may need to completely turn the bulb to ensure it makes contact with the fitting.

Benny Frandsen's 1968 ‘Ball’ lamp design was probably influenced by Verner Panton's 1959 'Topan' Lamp. The Frandsen Ball was originally produced as a pendant and magnetic wall lamp in brown and orange, the fashionable colours of the day.
