Vintage Soholm Danish Pottery Ceramic 1960s Table Lamp

Large and absolutely beautiful handmade studio pottery "UFO" table lamp.

Features a smooth, glossy glaze in beautiful mid/dark blue with shimmering mottled lighter blue.

Has two rings of glazed bronze highlights.

Elegant and stunning space age shape has led to the name "UFO" lamp.

Although this particular lamp was made by Soholm, renowned Danish architect and designer, Esben Le Klint (1915-1969), commissioned some lamps of this model to be made by Hasle Keramik (same ownership as Soholm) for sale in the high end Danish homestore, Illums Bolighus.

Handmade by Soholm Pottery on the Baltic island of Bornholm, Denmark in the 1960s.

Has the manufacturer's name and the model number, 1068 on the base.

34cm high, including the original lampholder, and 18cm wide at the base.

Excellent fully working vintage condition with no chips.

The price includes re-wiring with high quality, Italian-made fabric cable and a new plug, replacing old, worn fittings if required. You have the opportunity to choose the cable colour from a choice of black, white, dark brown, dark blue, light blue, burnt orange and old gold.

Full working condition. Will be rewired with high quality Italian vintage style braided cable and a new switch and lamp holder as required.

We can fit a UK/Irish, European, Australian/NZ or American* plug.

Takes a E27 lightbulb, maximum 60w (not included).

*If used in the USA/100/110/120v we recommend using an energy saving/LED bulb. E26 bulbs should fit but because they are 1mm smaller may need to be fully turned to ensure they make contact with the fitting. This lamp will take a European type/size lampshade with a ring diameter of 1.5 inches (3.6cm) or alternatively a lampshade that sits on the light bulb. See FAQs for full details.
