Vintage Riihimaki Blue Glass Tulppaani Tulip Vase

Vintage Finnish handmade vase with cool mid century styling.

This vase is a darker indigo blue. It is quite different to the standard Riihimaki bright blue, closer to Riihimaki's cobalt blue.

Model number 1516, designed by Tamara Aladin in 1973.  

Handmade by Riihimaki Lasi in Finland 1973-1976.  

Approximately 20cm tall and 8cm wide at its widest point.  

Excellent vintage condition with only very minor signs of age.

Part of the Tulppaani (Tulip) series.  There were a few variants and this is probably the most sought after because of its funky, space age shape which is very evocative of the atomic era.
