Large Turquoise Mid Century Chinese Cloisonne Copper Table Lamp

Vintage Chinese Turquoise Copper Cloisonné Table Lamp - Price is for 1 Lamp but we have 2 available.

Cloisonné is a traditional Chinese style of decorative enamelled copper, dating back to the 14th century. This style became very popular in the early 20th century and, in addition to the traditional Chinese-made vases, there was some production in Japan/Europe and vases adapted to lamps.

This lamp features a bright floral design in rich shades of blue with gold highlights. This turquoise colour is particularly authentic for this style.

Made of metal - the lamp base is believed to be copper and the fittings are brass - with a wood base. 

Fully rewired and refurbished with high quality, European-made fittings. 

Probably made in China or possibly Japan, Italy or the UK in the period 1920s to 1960s.

Approximately 43cm tall including the lampholder and 15cm wide.

Excellent vintage condition with only minor signs of age.

The lightbulb and lampshade are not included.

Completely rewired and refurbished with c2m of Italian-made braided cable in antique brass colour.

Fitted with a new British-made brass lamp holder, new switch on the cable and a UK plug.

This lamp has a mechanism to raise the lampholder by turning the brass knob. In order to rewire this lamp in line with modern UK electrical safety standards this function has been limited to a rise of c20cm.

The new lampholder means it can take modern UK/European lampshades. We recommend Witty Dawn who handmakes lampshades from a vast selection of vintage fabrics.
