Christian Dell Black Metal Desk Office Workshop 1920s/30s Lamp

A very rare, authentic original iconic design in unusually good condition.

Designed by Christian Dell, probably for Kaiser Leuchten in the 1920s/30s.

A original early model, possibly of the 6556 design.

A superbly high quality industrial weight steel task lamp.

The screw holes in the base indicate it was designed as a workshop rather than office lamp.

The shade is adjustable.

Beautiful rich patina in a high quality black enamel metal coating.

Has been completely taken apart and thoroughly restored and refurbished.

Made in Germany, probably in the 1920s/30s.

Approximately 45cm high and 50 cm wide and weighs 2.5kg.

This lamp is in excellent fully working vintage condition with a beautiful patina as shown in the photos.

It has only minor signs of age and considering it is probably around 90 years old it is in extraordinarily good condition.

The Christian Dell Model 6556 is still made today by Fritz Hansen of Denmark.

It has been thoroughly refurbished and rewired with high quality Italian-made black braided fabric cable.

Has been retro-fitted to bring it in line with current electrical standards, retaining original parts wherever possible.

We can fit a UK/Irish, European, Aus/NZ plug.

It takes a E27 bulb (not included). Because the lamp is metal it can get very hot with a traditional incandescent bulb and we recommend using an LED bulb.

* If used in the USA/100/110/120v we recommend using an energy saving/LED bulb. E26 bulbs should work but because they are 1mm smaller may need to be fully turned to ensure they make contact with the fitting.
