Dansk Designs Quistgaard Candle Tree Holder Danish Iron 1950s

Rare, original and authentic Quistgaard-designed Candle Tree.

A stunning and iconic brutalist sculptural design in solid iron.

One of Jens Harald Quistgaard’s first designs when he joined Dansk Designs in the 1950s.

Quistgaard trained as a silversmith and cast iron was his favourite material to work with.

The iron arms are separated by brass rings.

Made in Denmark in the 1950s/60s.

It has ‘Dansk Designs JHQ Denmark’ written on its base.

The top easily unscrews to enable the arms to be moved in a number of different ways as shown in the photos.

It is approximately 49cm tall and 15cm wide. It weighs 1.6kg (over 2kg packed).

It is in excellent fully functional vintage condition with the beautiful rich patina of vintage iron. This includes small areas of tarnish and rust as shown in the photos. It may also have the small areas of candle wax residue.

It takes 7 candles 1/2 inch (approximately 10/11cm) wide, which are available online. (The candles in the photos are not included).

The last photos show other candle trees to illustrate some of the positions it can take.

We may disassemble the Candle Tree to facilitate packing and posting. It will take a few minutes to easily reassemble without the need for any tools - the same process necessary to change to the position of the arms.
