Rewire and refurbishment of vintage Christian Dell desk lamp

Rewire required. Customer notes switch is temperamental.

Work undertaken as follows:

• Switch refurbished and checked. Doesn't make an electrical connection and cannot be repaired so was replaced.
• Metal lampholder needed to be earthed but wasn't capable of it, was also corroded. Replaced with black E27 lampholder.
• Arm dismantled, cleaned up and tilting joint lubricated.
• Ball joint holding shade has been tightened and lubricated.
• Old internal rewiring was crumbling, replaced with modern double-isolated pvc cable.
• Rewired with a bit over 1.5m of earthed black braided fabric cable and a black plug.
• Original plastic grommet to prevent cable fray where it exits metal base had deteriorated. I customised an old part I had in stock to fit the thread.
• Re-earthed at base in line with previous. Continuity was tested throughout lamp.
