As this lamp hasn’t been rewired yet, you have the opportunity to choose the colour of vintage style braided cable you would like it to be rewired with from a choice of black, dark brown, dark blue, light blue, burnt orange and old gold.

Dark blue, dark brown and old gold cable will all look particularly good with this lamp.

Small blue lamp, handmade in Denmark in the 1960s/70s.

Features a beautiful glossy mid blue glaze with mottled lighter blue and bronze highlights with a textured relief wheel design motif.

Designed by Maria Philippi in the period 1962-64 as part of the Nordlys (Northern Lights) Series.

Handmade in Denmark by Soholm on the Baltic island of Bornholm in the 1960s/70s.

Has manufacturer's details and model number etched on its base.

11cm high excluding the lamp holder and 11cm wide.

Excellent vintage condition with only very minor signs of age.

Will be rewired with Italian vintage style braided fabric cable and a new switch. We will attempt to reuse the original lamp holder where practicable, but may replace it with a modern E27 fitting. If you buy two lamps we will ensure they have matching fittings.

We can fit a British/Irish, European, Aus/NZ or American* plug.

* If used in the USA/100/110/120v we recommend using an energy saving/LED bulb. E26 bulbs should work but because they are 1mm smaller they should be fully turned to ensure they make contact with the fitting. This lamp will take a European type/size lampshade with a ring of 1.5 inches (3.6cm) or alternatively a lampshade that sits on the light bulb.
