Vintage Dansk Designs Owl Silver Plated Paperweight - in its original presentation box.

This cute paperweight is made of silver-plated zinc.

This Owl was part of a series of larger Dansk paperweights that have a two tone matt and gloss silver plated finish.

Excellent vintage condition with only minor signs of age. The box may have a few signs of age.

Approximately 8cm high and 4cm wide. Weighs 500g.

Most of this range was designed by award-winning Swedish silversmith, Gunnar Cyren.

Made for Dansk Designs in Japan in the 1970s/80s.

Has ‘Dansk Designs, Japan’ imprinted on its base plus 'EPZ', signifying its manufacturing technique of electro-plated zinc, a technology that the Japanese led the world in at the time.

As well as looking great, these paperweights are extremely tactile and have a real quality feel about them. It would make a wonderful gift.

Dansk Designs was started in the 1950s by an American who toured Europe seeking out talented designers to produce a range of homewares he could sell to the US market.

The range was designed to showcase Danish and Scandinavian design to an international audience and, due to their wonderful combination of form and function, Dansk Design items have become highly collectible including in their ‘home country’ of Denmark.
