Michael Andersen Pottery Danish Ceramic Table Lamp Bedside Scandinavian Lighting
Vintage Danish Pottery Ceramic Table Lamp.
Medium sized brown studio pottery table lamp handmade in Denmark in the 1960s.
Features a mottled light and dark brown smooth matt glaze with a light brown hexagonal base.
Designed by Marianne Starck for Michael Anderson & Sons Ceramic Studio. Has the manufacturer’s 3 fish logo and model number 6259 etched to its base.
Handmade on the Baltic island of Bornholm, Denmark in the 1960s.
Excellent fully working refurbished vintage condition.
25cm high, including the lampholder, and 12cm wide at the base.
It has been rewired with a black vintage look braided cable. It has a British/Irish plug but we can fit a European*, Australian/NZ or American** plug.
It takes a B22 lamp, maximum 60w (not included) but we will provide a E26/E27 adapter if you choose the European* or USA** region options. In the photos is a vintage-look LED Filament G95 ‘radio spiral’ bulb (not included).
Because it has a metal lamp holder this lamp needs to be fitted with a 3 pin earthed plug. If you live in a country that does not have 3 pin sockets please let us know and we will change the lamp holder to a standard plastic one so that they can be used with a 2 pin socket. Please let me know if you are unsure about this.
* European option: we will send an adapter so you can use E27 light bulbs, although in Europe you will be able to buy B22 light bulbs online from the UK.
** USA option: we will send an adapter so you can use E26 light bulbs. In the USA/100/110/120v we recommend using an energy saving/LED bulb. This lamp will take a European/UK type & size lampshade with a UNO style ring inner diameter of 1.5 inches (3.6cm) or 1 inch (2.6cm), or alternatively a lampshade that sits on the light bulb.
If you would like to buy a lampshade to accompany your lamp we recommend the wonderful handmade lampshades utilising vintage fabrics by Dawn Witty - you can find her designs here: https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/WittyDawnUK
Note that we have attempted to show and state the condition as accurately as possible but this is a pre-loved, vintage item and some minor signs of age and/or use are to be expected. There may also be slight variations in the colours shown due to lighting, the camera lens and the device the image is viewed through. Handmade items may have slight imperfections, such as air bubbles in glass, which add to their uniqueness and charm.
