Louis Poulsen Danish Desk Office Luxo Lamp Retro Anglepoise Style Scandinavian Design
Vintage Louis Poulsen Luxo Enamel Desk Lamp - very rare early model!
Superb quality enamel desk lamp with wonderful authentic retro styling.
Rare early Luxo L-9 model. Designed by Norwegian Jac Jacobsen for Louis Poulsen in the 1960s and shown in Louis Poulsen’s 1967 catalogue.
Made in Denmark in the 1960s.
55cm high. The weighted base is c17cm wide. Weighs 4kg.
This lamp is in very good vintage condition. It has signs of age/use including minor scratches, loss of enamel and rust, but really for a c50 year old item it is in extremely good condition.
It is in full working condition. It has been rewired with a vintage look black cable. We can fit a UK/Irish, European, Aus/NZ plug or American* plug.
It takes a E27 bulb (not included). The bulb in the photos is a vintage look ST58 LED Filament bulb (not included).
* If used in the USA/100/110/120v we recommend using an energy saving/LED bulb. E26 bulbs should fit but because they are 1mm smaller they will need to be fully turned to ensure it makes contact with the fitting.
The Luxo ‘Arkitekt’ desk lamp, is a contemporary of the British Anglepoise lamp. The first Arkitekt model, the L-1, was designed by Norwegian Jac Jacobsen in 1937 and is still produced today.
The most commonly found model is the often brightly coloured Luxo pivoted clamp lamps. They were sold in the UK by design-led homestore Habitat in the 1980s.
Note that we have attempted to show and state the condition as accurately as possible but this is a pre-loved, vintage item and some minor signs of age and/or use are to be expected. There may also be slight variations in the colours shown due to lighting, the camera lens and the device the image is viewed through.
