Vintage Danish Pottery Ceramic Table Lamp 1960s 1970s Retro Scandinavian
Vintage Danish Pottery Ceramic Table Lamp
Medium sized handmade 1960s/70s Danish ceramic lamp with an unusual and beautiful subtle shimmering design.
Features an unglazed rustic biscuit-coloured neck.
The lower half has a satin pearlescent pale green glaze with a pleasing geometric textured relief design.
We do not know who made this lamp as it is unsigned but in terms of style and quality it is very much like a Soholm Stentoj design.
Believed to be handmade in Denmark in the 1960s/70s.
It is 29cm high including the brown bakelite lamp holder and 14cm wide at the base.
Excellent fully working vintage condition with only very minor signs of age.
It has been rewired with a vintage style brown braided fabric cable, retaining the original lamp holder and switch.
We can fit a UK/Irish, European, Aus/NZ plug or American* plug.
It takes a E27 lightbulb, maximum 60w (not included). In the photos is a vintage style LED Filament G95 lightbulb (not included).
* If used in the USA/100/110/120v we recommend using an energy saving/LED bulb. E26 bulbs should work but because they are 1mm smaller they should be fully turned to ensure they make contact with the fitting. This lamp will take a European type/size lampshade with a ring diameter of 1.5 inches (3.6cm) or alternatively a lampshade that sits on the light bulb.
If you would like to buy a lampshade to accompany your lamp we recommend the wonderful handmade lampshades utilising vintage fabrics by Dawn Witty - you can find her designs here: https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/WittyDawnUK
Note that we have attempted to show and state the condition as accurately as possible but this is a pre-loved, vintage item and some minor signs of age and/or use are to be expected. There may also be slight variations in the colours shown due to lighting, the camera lens and the device the image is viewed through. Handmade items may have slight imperfections, such as air bubbles in glass, which add to their uniqueness and charm.
