Vintage Danish Orange Pottery Ceramic Table Lamp Bedside Light Retro 1960s 1970s
Vintage Orange Ceramic Danish Studio Pottery Table Lamp.
Lampshade not included (made by Witty Dawn, details below).
Handmade in Denmark in the 1960s/70s.
Medium sized orange and brown studio pottery table lamp in an attractive bulb-like shape.
Features a smooth, glossy orange glazed neck with shimmering grey blue highlights and a rustic, unglazed espresso brown base.
It is not known who made this lamp, if it had it's makers mark on the base it has worn away.
Despite having no identifying marks, we are confident it is Danish 1960s/70s as it was sourced in Denmark, was fitted with vintage Danish fittings and is completely in line with Danish styling.
Approximately 27cm high, including the original brown Bakelite lamp holder, and 16cm wide at the base.
Excellent vintage condition with only very minor signs of age.
It has been rewired with a brown vintage style braided cable, retaining its original lamp holder and switch.
We can fit a British/Irish, European*, Australian/NZ or American* plug.
It takes a E27 lightbulb, maximum 60w (not included). The bulb in the photos is a vintage-look G95 LED Filament bulb.
*If used in the USA/100/110/120v we recommend using an energy saving/LED bulb. E26 bulbs should fit but because they are 1mm smaller may need to be fully turned to ensure they make contact with the fitting. This lamp will take a European type/size lampshade with a ring diameter of 1.5 inches (3.6cm) or alternatively a lampshade that sits on the light bulb.
If you would like to buy a lampshade to accompany your lamp we recommend the wonderful handmade lampshades utilising vintage fabrics by Dawn Witty - you can find her designs here: https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/WittyDawnUK
Note that we have attempted to show and state the condition as accurately as possible but this is a pre-loved, vintage item and some minor signs of age and/or use are to be expected. There may also be slight variations in the colours shown due to lighting, the camera lens and the device the image is viewed through.
Handmade items may have slight imperfections, such as air bubbles in glass, which add to their uniqueness and charm.
