Soholm Pottery Hand-painted Danish Blue Ceramic Table Lamp
Medium sized blue ceramic table lamp, handmade in Denmark in the 1970s/80s.
This is a rare and unusual design with an Art Deco feel.
Features a satin, lightly textured biscuit coloured glaze with a rustic feel featuring small areas without glaze.
The floral design is hand-painted in a beautiful deep greenish shed of blue with warm ochre highlights.
Designed by Noomi Backhausen.
Handmade in Denmark by Soholm Stentoj (Pottery) on the Baltic island of Bornholm in the 1970s/80s.
Has manufacturer's details printed, ‘Noomi’ etched faintly in the stone, and the painter’s mark painted on its base.
It will be rewired with vintage look braided cable
Approximately 25cm high including the lampholder and 9cm wide at its widest part.
Very good vintage condition with only very minor signs of age.
Fully working condition.
We can fit a British/Irish, European, Aus/NZ or American* plug. It takes an E27 lightbulb, maximum 60w (not included).
* In the USA/100/110/120v we recommend using LED/energy saving lightbulbs. E26 bulbs should fit but because they are 1mm smaller you will need to turn the bulb fully to ensure it makes contact with the fitting. This lamp will take a European type/size lampshade with an Uno style ring diameter of 1.5 inches (3.6cm) or alternatively a lampshade that sits on the light bulb.
If you would like to buy a lampshade to accompany your lamp we recommend the wonderful handmade lampshades utilising vintage fabrics by Dawn Witty - you can find her designs here: https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/WittyDawnUK. If you contact her with a picture of the lamp you have bought she will make suggestions on a lampshade to suit it.
Note that we have attempted to show and state the condition as accurately as possible but this is a pre-loved, vintage item and some minor signs of age and/or use are to be expected.
