Soholm Pottery Stentoj Blue Danish Table Lamp Maria Philippi Peacock Vintage 1960s Retro Scandinavian Light
Soholm Pottery Danish Ceramic Table Lamp
Stunning small lamp with a beautiful shimmering glaze, handmade in Denmark in the 1960s/70s
Has a rustic unglazed biscuit neck and glazed lower half with shimmering highlights and a textured pattern.
The lower half features a beautiful glossy warm pecan brown glaze with iridescent CTK blue, light blue, and mottled amber highlights in a geometric relief design that is reminiscent of peacock feathers.
Designed by Maria Philippi.
Handmade in Denmark by Soholm on the Baltic island of Bornholm in the 1960s/70s.
Has designer’s initials, manufacturer's details and model number etched on its base.
23cm high including the original lamp holder and 10cm wide at its base.
Excellent fully working vintage condition.
It will be rewired with vintage style braided fabric cable retaining its original Bakelite lamp holder.
We can fit a British/Irish, European*, Aus/NZ plug or American** plug.
It takes a E27 lightbulb, maximum 60w (not included).
** If used in the USA/100/110/120v we recommend using an energy saving/LED bulb. E26 bulbs should work but because they are 1mm smaller they should be fully turned to ensure they make contact with the fitting. This lamp will take a European type/size lampshade with a ring of 1.5 inches (3.6cm) or alternatively a lampshade that sits on the light bulb. Full details of lampshades can be found under FAQs.
If you would like to buy a lampshade to accompany your lamp we recommend the wonderful handmade lampshades utilising vintage fabrics by Dawn Witty - you can find her designs here: https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/WittyDawnUK
Note that we have attempted to show and state the condition as accurately as possible but this is a pre-loved, vintage item and some minor signs of age and/or use are to be expected. But unless otherwise stated there will be no chips or similar damage.
