Soholm Pottery Danish Maria Philippi Blue Table Lamp Bedside Vintage 1960s
Soholm Pottery Danish Blue Ceramic Table Lamp
Small blue and brown lamp, handmade in Denmark in the 1960s/70s
Has a slightly textured unglazed light brown neck.
The lower part has a beautiful bright blue glaze with amber and caramel highlights.
Designed by Maria Philippi for Soholm Stentoj (pottery).
Handmade in Denmark on the Baltic island of Bornholm in the 1960s/70s.
Has designer’s initials, manufacturer's details and model number etched on its base.
It has been refurbished with bright blue vintage look braided cable using the original switch and lamp holder.
20cm high including the original lamp holder. 12cm wide at the base.
Excellent fully working vintage condition with no chips and only very minor signs of age.
Rewired with vintage style bright blue fabric cable, retaining its original Bakelite switch.
We can fit a British/Irish, European, Aus/NZ or American* plug.
It takes a E27 lightbulb, maximum 60w (not included). In the photos is a vintage style LED Filament G95 'Radio Spiral' lightbulb (not included).
* If used in the USA/100/110/120v we recommend using an energy saving/LED bulb. E26 bulbs should work but because they are 1mm smaller they should be fully turned to ensure they make contact with the fitting. This lamp will take a European type/size lampshade with a ring of 1.5 inches (3.6cm) or alternatively a lampshade that sits on the light bulb.
If you would like to buy a lampshade to accompany your lamp we recommend the wonderful handmade lampshades utilising vintage fabrics by Dawn Witty - you can find her designs here: https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/WittyDawnUK. If you contact her with a picture of the lamp you have bought she will make suggestions on a lampshade to suit it.
Note that we have attempted to show and state the condition as accurately as possible but this is a pre-loved, vintage item and some minor signs of age and/or use are to be expected.
