Small table lamp, handmade in Denmark in the 1960s/70s.
Stylish, unusual and rare lamp with a wonderful glaze varies in different lights.
Features a glossy deep caramel brown glaze with warm amber and iridescent purple/blue highlights.
Has a textured relief design in the lower part with shimmering insets of blue/purple.
Designed by Einar Johansen for Soholm Stentoj (Pottery).
Handmade in Denmark by Soholm on the Baltic island of Bornholm in the 1960s/70s.
Has manufacturer's details, designer’s mark, and model number etched on its base.
22cm high including the original lamp holder. 12cm wide at its widest point.
Excellent vintage condition with no chips and only very minor signs of age.
Fully working condition. Rewired with vintage style black braided cable.
We can fit a British/Irish, European, Aus/NZ or American* plug. Unless you tell us otherwise, we will fit the plug suitable for the country the lamp is sent to.
It takes an E27 lightbulb, maximum 60w (not included).
* In the USA/100/110/120v we recommend using LED/energy saving lightbulbs. E26 bulbs should fit but because they are 1mm smaller you will need to turn the bulb fully to ensure it makes contact with the fitting. This lamp will take a European type/size lampshade with an Uno style ring diameter of 1.5 inches (3.6cm) or alternatively a lampshade that sits on the light bulb. See FAQs for full details.
If you would like to buy a lampshade to accompany your lamp we recommend the wonderful handmade lampshades utilising vintage fabrics by Dawn Witty - you can find her designs here: https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/WittyDawnUK. If you contact her with a picture of the lamp you have bought she will make suggestions on a lampshade to suit it.
Note that we have attempted to show and state the condition as accurately as possible but this is a pre-loved, vintage item and some minor signs of age and/or use are to be expected.
