Rare Stelton Arne Jacobsen AJ Cylinda Line 1 litre Coffee Pot 1960s/70s Vintage Scandinavian Danish Mens Gifts Presents Retro
Stelton Cylinda Line AJ Steel Coffee Pot **Rare Small 1 litre Size**
Designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1967. Made in Denmark in the 1970/80s.
Rare smaller 1 litre size. This size was made during the 1970s/80s. It was designed for Mocha, a drink that was fashionable at the time. It is ideal for smaller households - the perfect size to sit on your desk for coffee in style as you work!
***This is the smaller, rarer 1 litre model that is no longer made. We believe production of this size finished in the 1980s. The last photo shows it with the larger 1.5 litre model (available for separate purchase) and the teapot to assist with size comparison.***
It would make a wonderful present for any lover of Mid Century Scandinavian design.
It is 17cm high and 20cm wide from spout to handle.
It is in good vintage condition. It has an area of scuffing and some other cosmetic marks near the base of the spout which we have highlighted in the photos and factored into the price.
The iconic AJ Cylinda Line coffee pot was designed by Danish architect and designer Arne Jacobsen in 1967.
It took over ten years from Jacobsen’s initial design in the 1950s to the perfection of the production process due to the precise engineering requirements of sheet steel. Even once this had been mastered, there was a further period perfecting the manual satin polishing process and fine-tuning the spout. The Cylinda Line truly is a masterpiece of both design and engineering.
Cylinda Line items are on display at Modern Art and Design Museums around the world. This was a modern, cutting edge design in its day and led the way for a whole new era of modernist design in homewares. With its clean, minimalist lines this teapot has a timeless appeal. It would make a wonderful present for any design-conscious person.
Note that we have attempted to show and state the condition as accurately as possible but this is a pre-loved, vintage item and some minor signs of age and/or use are to be expected. There may also be slight variations in the colours shown due to lighting, the camera lens and the device the image is viewed through.
