Palshus Pottery Danish Blue Ceramic Lamp 1960s Annelise Linnemann-Schmidt Vintage Retro Scandinavian
Vintage Palshus Pottery Danish Ceramic Table Lamp
Elegant, very large table lamp in a stylish muted shade of dark petrol blue (grey blue with a green tinge).
Note that the lamp is a greyish blue-green rather than the olive green the neck may appear in the close up photos.
Rare Palshus lamp designed by Annelise Linnemann-Schmidt.
Features a smooth glossy petrol blue glaze with subtle mottled darker highlights. Has an attractive geometric textured relief design with blue highlights on the lower part.
Designed by Annelise Linnemann-Schmidt who ran Palshus with her husband Per from 1949 until her death in 1969.
Handmade by Palshus in Copenhagen, Denmark in the 1950s/60s.
Has its designer’s initials and manufacturer’s details on its base.
It is 38cm high including the original Bakelite lampholder and 11cm wide at its base.
Excellent full working vintage condition with only very minor signs of age.
Palshus Ceramics Studio closed in 1972.
It has been rewired with a vintage style dark blue braided fabric cable.
We can fit a UK/Irish, European, Aus/NZ plug or American* plug.
It takes a E27 lightbulb, maximum 60w (not included). In the photos is a vintage style LED Filament G95 'Radio Spiral' lightbulb (not included).
* If used in the USA/100/110/120v we recommend using an energy saving/LED bulb. E26 bulbs should work but because they are 1mm smaller they should be fully turned to ensure they make contact with the fitting. This lamp will take a European type/size lampshade with a ring diameter of 1.5 inches (3.6cm) or alternatively a lampshade that sits on the light bulb.
If you would like to buy a lampshade to accompany your lamp we recommend the wonderful handmade lampshades utilising vintage fabrics by Dawn Witty - you can find her designs here: https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/WittyDawnUK
Note that we have attempted to show and state the condition as accurately as possible but this is a pre-loved, vintage item and some minor signs of age and/or use are to be expected.
But unless otherwise stated there will be no chips or similar damage. There may also be slight variations in the colours shown due to lighting, the camera lens and the device the image is viewed through.
Handmade items may have slight imperfections, such as air bubbles in glass, which add to their uniqueness and charm.
