Danish Haresfur Pottery Blue Ceramic Table Lamp

A large and very impressive vintage studio pottery space age shape "UFO" design table lamp in a beautiful bright colour.

Satin bright mid blue 'haresfur' glaze. Unglazed, brown lower part.

Haresfur is a traditional Danish mottled glaze.

This is possibly a Palshus lamp although it doesn’t have the stamp their items usually do, perhaps because the shape of the base wouldn’t allow it. There appears to be Palshus signed on the base plus the bright blue haresfur glaze is a well known Palshus colour and style.

The bright blue colour and haresfur glaze are both quite unusual for Danish mid century ceramic lamps.

Whilst we are unsure who made this, we can be certain that it is a stunning vintage Scandinavian lamp in a beautiful colour, with a traditional glaze and in an impressive size.

It is also a very rare lamp because, despite quite a bit of research, we have not found any other examples of it!

Some Swedish pottery studios also produce haresfur glaze items during this period but we are not aware of any producing lamps.

Believed to be made in Denmark in the 1960s/70s.

Excellent fully working vintage condition with no chips and only minor signs of age.

40cm high, including the original white Bakelite lamp holder, and 18cm wide at the the widest point.

Full working condition. Rewired with bright blue vintage look braided cable.

We can fit a UK/Irish, European, Australian/NZ or American* plug.

Takes a E27 lightbulb, maximum 60w (not included). The bulb in the photos is a vintage-look G95 LED Filament bulb.

*If used in the USA/100/110/120v we recommend using an energy saving/LED bulb. E26 bulbs should fit but because they are 1mm smaller may need to be fully turned to ensure they make contact with the fitting. This lamp will take a European type/size lampshade with a ring diameter of 1.5 inches (3.6cm) or alternatively a lampshade that sits on the light bulb.
