Louis Poulsen Original AJ Royal Danish Pendant Lamp Arne Jacobsen 1960s Ceiling
Vintage original Danish AJ Royal pendant lamp. Light grey. 50cm wide.
Iconic pendant lamp designed by Arne Jacobsen specifically for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen that opened in 1960.
This pendant was made by Louis Poulsen in the 1960s.
It is in the original light grey/off white colour and 50cm wide, 20cm high size that it was originally produced in.
We sourced this lamp directly from the beautiful home of a Danish architect who had purchased the lamp new in the 1960s.
It is very good vintage full working condition. It has minor signs of age such as minor loss of paint as shown in the photos.
It has been completely refurbished, retaining the original ceramic lamp holders, and using approximately 2.5m of black vintage-look braided cable.
It takes 4 E27 lightbulbs, maximum 60w (not included). The bulbs in the photos are vintage-look ST58 LED Filament.
* If used in the USA/100/110/120v we recommend using energy saving/LED bulbs. E26 bulbs should fit although because they are 1mm smaller you may need to completely turn the bulb to ensure it makes contact with the fitting. Alternatively, E27 bulbs should be available online in North America.
Note that we have attempted to show and state the condition as accurately as possible but this is a pre-loved, vintage item and some minor signs of age and/or use are to be expected. There may also be slight variations in the colours shown due to lighting, the camera lens and the device the image is viewed through.
