Michael Andersen Pottery Danish Ceramic Table Lamp Bedside Light 6253
Vintage Danish Pottery Ceramic Table Lamp.
Medium-sized brown and ivory studio pottery lamp, made in Denmark in the 1960s.
Features an unglazed, rustic textured base in espresso brown.
Has a band of ivory satin glaze around the widest part of the base in a textured relief geometric pattern.
Designed by Helge Bjufstrøm for Michael Anderson & Sons Ceramic Studio.
Has the designer’s initials, manufacturer’s 3 fish logo and model number 6253 etched to its base.
Handmade in Denmark on the Baltic island of Bornholm in the 1960s.
Excellent vintage condition with no chips.
Approximately 30cm high, including the original Bakelite lamp holder, and 14cm wide at the base.
It has been rewired with black vintage look braided cable retaining the original Bakelite lamp holder.
We can fit a British/Irish, European*, Australian/NZ or American** plug.
It takes a E27 lightbulb, maximum 60w (not included). In the photos is a vintage-look LED Filament G95 ‘radio spiral’ bulb (not included).
** USA option: E26 lightbulbs should fit but because they are 1mm smaller you may need to fully turn them to ensure they make contact with the fitting. We recommend using an energy saving/LED bulb. This lamp will take a European/UK type & size lampshade with a ring inner diameter of 1.5 inches (3.6cm) or 1 inch (2.6cm) or alternatively a lampshade that sits on the light bulb. See FAQs for full details.
A note on lampshades. We sell our lamps without lampshades but they are all suitable for them. If you would like to buy a lampshade to accompany your lamp we recommend the wonderful handmade lampshades utilising vintage fabrics by Dawn Witty - you can find her designs here: https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/WittyDawnUK
Note that we have attempted to show and state the condition as accurately as possible but this is a pre-loved, vintage item and some minor signs of age and/or use are to be expected. There may also be slight variations in the colours shown due to lighting, the camera lens and the device the image is viewed through.
Handmade items may have slight imperfections, such as air bubbles in glass, which add to their uniqueness and charm.
