Soholm Pottery Danish Ceramic Table Lamp 1960s/70s

Very large and rare handmade lamp with an unusual urn-like shape.

Features an amazing glittery glaze and band of geometric relief design around the widest part.

Has a glossy iridescent glaze in shimmering bronze and gold with green highlights.

When a lampshade directs the glow downwards it will shimmer the glaze.

Made in Denmark by Soholm on the Baltic island of Bornholm in the 1960s/70s.

Has its manufacturer’s details and model number etched on its base.

36cm high including the original white lamp holder and 22cm wide at its widest part.

Large and solid lamp, weighs 2.4kg.

Excellent fully working vintage condition.

Because it hasn’t been rewired yet, you have the opportunity to choose the colour of vintage style braided cable you would like it to be rewired with from a choice of black, dark brown, dark blue, light blue, burnt orange and old gold

Will be rewired with vintage style braided fabric cable, retaining the original Bakelite lamp holder if practicable.

We can fit a British/Irish, European*, Aus/NZ plug or American** plug.

It takes a E27 lightbulb, maximum 60w (not included).

** If used in the USA/100/110/120v we recommend using an energy saving/LED bulb. E26 bulbs should work but because they are 1mm smaller they should be fully turned to ensure they make contact with the fitting. This lamp will take a European type/size lampshade with a ring of 1.5 inches (3.6cm) or alternatively a lampshade that sits on the light bulb. Full details of lampshades can be found under FAQs.

Note that we have attempted to show and state the condition as accurately as possible but this is a pre-loved, vintage item and some minor signs of age and/or use are to be expected, but unless otherwise stated, there will be no chips or similar damage.

Handmade items may have slight imperfections, such as air bubbles in glass, which add to their uniqueness and charm.

There may also be slight variations in the colours shown due to lighting, the camera lens and the device the image is viewed through.
