LARGE 38cm Holmegaard Danish Gulvvase Gulvase Glass Otto Brauer Orange Floor Vase
Large 38 cm Holmegaard Danish Gulvvase Glass Bottle Floor Vase
Handmade in Denmark, probably in the 1960s/70s.
Attractive amber orange glass (the colour is officially called ‘Brun’).
Designed by Otto Brauer in 1962 based on a Per Lutken 1958 design.
Very good vintage condition with minor signs of age and imperfections from the handmade manufacturing process.
The last photo shows it with other gulvvases that are available for separate purchase. It is the vase on the left.
At 38cm high and in amber, this is one of the original Gulvvase (“floor vase”) sizes and colours made by Kastrup Holmegaard in Denmark in the 1960s.
Holmegaard later made other colours including firstly the opaque ‘Opal’, then the opal-lined Carnaby range and later still cobalt blue gulvvases were made under license in the UK, but this model is an early original design. This is the middle size of the 5 sizes Gulvvases were made in.
Note that we have attempted to show and state the condition as accurately as possible but this is a pre-loved, vintage item and some minor signs of age and/or use are to be expected. There may also be slight variations in the colours shown due to lighting, the camera lens and the device the image is viewed through.
Handmade items may have slight imperfections, such as air bubbles in glass, which add to their uniqueness and charm.
