Deep amber orange "Brun" colour (one of the original colours).
This is a particularly fine example of the Gulvvase with beautiful colouring, a strong shape and in excellent condition.
Handmade in Denmark by Kastrup Holmegaard.
Retains its original sticker which shows that it was made between 1965 and 1971*.
Measures approximately 44cm high, 14cm wide at the rim and 17cm wide at the base.
Excellent vintage condition.
Designed in 1962 by Otto Brauer based on a 1958 design by Per Lutken.
The 'Floorvase' is probably Holmegaard's most famous product, and an icon of Mid Century Modern design.
The amber orange colour is officially called ‘Brun’ and is one of the original colours the Gulvvase was made in, in the 1960s.
* The sticker says 'Kastrup Holmegaard, By Appointment to HM The King Of Denmark'. Kastrup merged with Holmegaard in 1965. The last King of Denmark died in January 1972.
Note that we have attempted to show and state the condition as accurately as possible but this is a pre-loved, vintage item and some minor signs of age and/or use are to be expected. There may also be slight variations in the colours shown due to lighting, the camera lens and the device the image is viewed through.
Handmade items may have slight imperfections, such as air bubbles in glass, which add to their uniqueness and charm.
