Vintage Knabstrup Pottery Danish Ceramic Wall Relief

Beautiful and vibrant turquoise blue & yellow glossy glazed chicken design on an unglazed chocolate brown ceramic slab.

Designed by Gunter Praschak who worked for Knabstrup between 1964 and 1970. At that time he also had his own pottery studio in Copenhagen. After his period in Denmark he returned to his native Austria where he headed the ceramics department of the University of Fine Arts in Linz. He is regarded as a leading figure in 20th Century Austrian ceramics.

Handmade by Knabstrup Pottery in Denmark in the 1960s.

Has the designer's initials to the front and Knabstrup's logo to the back.

Excellent vintage with only very minor signs of age.

Large, solid and heavy. 24cm high, 26cm wide and 2cm deep.
