Holmegaard Danish Skibsglas Ships Port Sherry Glasses.

Add a touch of Mid Century Scandinavian style to your family celebrations!

A set of 6 sparkling clear 10.5cm high glasses. There is a wonderful clarity to these glasses and a weightiness - they simply ooze quality.

A lovely gift for a sailor! Each glass in the Ships Glass range was named after a role on a traditional wooden brig. This size is named 'Topgast' (Leading Hand) and is described as holding a generous ship's size serving of Sherry or Port!

Each glass has ‘HG9’ etched into its base signifying it was handmade by Holmegaard in Denmark in 1979.

Excellent vintage condition with only very minor signs of age.

The ‘Danske Skibsglas’ or ‘Danish Ship's Glass’ range was designed by Holmegaard's Chief Designer, Per Lutken, in 1971. The range was designed to have excellent weighting and balance properties (so they didn’t fall over when the boat hit rough seas!) and to feel wonderful against the lips.

It was one of Holmegaard’s most popular ever ranges of stemware and inspired many copies. There is an obvious quality and clarity to these originals plus they are considerably weightier than their lookalikes.

The last photo shows it with the larger Skibsglass White Wine glass which is available for separate purchase.

Note that we have attempted to show and state the condition as accurately as possible but this is a pre-loved, vintage item and some minor signs of age and/or use are to be expected. There may also inevitably be slight variations in the colours shown due to lighting, the camera lens and the device the image is viewed through.

Handmade items may have slight imperfections, such as air bubbles in glass, which add to their uniqueness and charm.
