Holmegaard Royal Copenhagen Black Glass Table Lamp Danish Vintage Retro
Holmegaard Royal Copenhagen Black Glass Table Lamp
Stylish large vintage black glass lamp in a very pleasing, classic shape.
Designed by Michael Bang in 1978 for Holmegaard in collaboration with Royal Copenhagen. The design is called 'Bridge'.
Made on the Danish island of Fyn in the period 1978-1985.
Approximately 30cm high, including the lamp holder, and 15cm wide.
Excellent vintage condition with original sticker.
It is in full working condition with its original lamp holder and switch. We can fit a British/Irish, European, Aus/NZ or American* plug.
It takes a E27 lightbulb, maximum 60w (not included), the light bulb in the photos is a vintage-look LED Filament G95 ‘radio spiral’.
*If used in the USA/100/110/120v we recommend using an energy saving/LED bulb. E26 bulbs should work but because they are 1mm smaller they need to be fully turned to ensure they make contact with the fitting.
A note on lampshades. We sell our lamps without lampshades but they are all suitable for lampshades. Shading the glare from lighting is actually intrinsic to the Danish design and living (hygge) ethos. Poul Henningsen's classic pendant lamp is the perfect example of the Danish design approach to form and function - the multiple, angled layers of the pendant were specifically engineered to completely eliminate glare. If you would like to buy a lampshade to accompany your lamp we recommend the wonderful handmade lampshades utilising vintage fabrics by Dawn Witty - you can find her designs here: https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/WittyDawnUK
Note that we have attempted to show and state the condition as accurately as possible but this is a pre-loved, vintage item and some minor signs of age and/or use are to be expected. There may also be slight variations in the colours shown due to lighting, the camera lens and the device the image is viewed through. Handmade items may have slight imperfections, such as air bubbles in glass, which add to their uniqueness and charm.
