Holmegaard Opal Gulvvase Danish Glass Vase 1960s 1970s

Opaque Opaline white glass, which is one of the five original colours the gulvvase was made in.

Designed by Otto Brauer in 1962 for Kastrup Holmegaard.

Made in Denmark in the period 1962-1980.

Measures approximately 25cm (10") high.

Excellent vintage condition. Has no chips and only minor signs of age. Has a pinprick fleck in the glass, from the manufacturing process, which is highlighted in a photo.

Note we are specialist sellers (and also collectors) of glass, so you can be confident in the accuracy of our descriptions - we aim for our buyers to receive items in the same or better condition than they were expecting, and our reviews should illustrate this.

Designed in 1962 by Otto Brauer based on a 1959 design by Per Lutken.

The 'Floorvase' is probably Holmegaard's most famous product, and an icon of Mid Century Modern design.

The Gulvvase was made in 5 sizes and originally produced in amber brown, cobalt blue, green, ruby and opal white.

All gulvvases were produced in the Fyens glassworks on the Danish island of Funen.

Gulvvases were produced by (Kastrup until 1965) Holmegaard between 1962 and 1980.

Note that we have attempted to show and state the condition as accurately as possible but this is a pre-loved, vintage item and some minor signs of age and/or use are to be expected.

There may also be slight variations in the colours shown due to lighting, the camera lens and the device the image is viewed through.

Handmade items may have slight imperfections, such as air bubbles in glass, which add to their uniqueness and charm.
