Vintage Holmegaard Danish Black Glass Pendant Lamp 1970s

Espresso black/aubergine colour with opal white inner lining.

The colour is officially called Aubergine. It becomes a warmer glowing chestnut brown shade when the light is on.

A superbly high quality and rarely found example of mid century Danish design.

Striking Kantate design by Michael Bang for Holmegaard in 1978.

Handmade by in Denmark by Holmegaard between 1978 and 1984.

Made on the Danish island of Funen.

Has its original Holmegaard sticker.

Approximately 38cm wide and 27xm high.

Excellent near mint fully working condition vintage condition.

Rewired with 60cm of high quality black Italian vintage style braided cable.

Note that this pendant is very heavy and will need to be properly fixed to a wooden beam.

Takes E27 light bulb, maximum 60w (not included). We have used a vintage-look LED filament G95 Radio Spiral bulb in the photos.

If used in the USA/100/110/120v we recommend using energy saving/LED bulbs. E26 bulbs should fit but as they are 1mm smaller may need to be fully turned to ensure they make contact with the fitting.
