Vintage Swedish Gustavberg Pottery Birds Wall Relief Tile

A superb piece of Mid Century Danish studio pottery in the shape of a parent bird with baby birds.

Beautiful relief design features bright pools of amber, baby blue and pistachio green glaze.

Has a colourful glazed relief design on a chunky, very solid glossy black base.

Designed by Britt-Louise Sundell (1928-2011) for Gustavberg.

Handmade in Sweden, probably in the 1960s/70s.

Has Gustavberg's stamp and a sticker saying 'B L Sundell Design' on the back.

Very solid and heavy.

Approximately 26cm wide by 23cm high and 2cm deep.

Excellent vintage condition with no chips. Retains its orignal sticker.

Britt-Louise Sundell was one of Sweden's best known 20th century ceramists and specialised in often whimiscal designs featuring birds, trees and other elements of nature.
