Engstrom Pottery Danish Brown Ceramic Table Lamp Bedside Light Retro
Vintage Danish Pottery Ceramic Table Lamp
Medium sized studio pottery table lamp made in Denmark in the 1960s/70s.
Iridescent shiny glazed bands of warm dark chocolate brown and lighter caramel gold.
Unusual and striking design.
Handmade by Engstrom Pottery in Denmark in the 1960s/70s.
Has ‘Engstrom Handmade Denmark’ stamped to its base.
Excellent fully working vintage condition with only very minor signs of age.
27cm high, including the lamp holder, and 14cm wide at the base.
It has been fully refurbished with a vintage style antique brass lamp holder and black vintage look braided cable.
We can fit a British/Irish, European, Aus/NZ or American* plug. It takes an E27 lightbulb, maximum 60w (not included).
Because it has a metal lamp holder this lamp needs to be fitted with a 3 pin earthed plug. If you live in a country that does not have 3 pin sockets please let us know and we will change the lamp holder to a standard plastic one so that they can be used with a 2 pin socket. Please let me know if you are unsure about this.
* In the USA/100/110/120v we recommend using LED/energy saving lightbulbs. E26 bulbs should fit but because they are 1mm smaller you will need to turn the bulb fully to ensure it makes contact with the fitting. This lamp will take a standard European type/size lampshade with a ring diameter of 1.5 inches (3.6cm) or alternatively a lampshade that sits on the light bulb.
If you would like to buy a lampshade to accompany your lamp we recommend the wonderful handmade lampshades utilising vintage fabrics by Dawn Witty - you can find her designs here: https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/WittyDawnUK
Note that we have attempted to show and state the condition as accurately as possible but this is a pre-loved, vintage item and some minor signs of age and/or use are to be expected. There may also be slight variations in the colours shown due to lighting, the camera lens and the device the image is viewed through.
Handmade items may have slight imperfections, such as air bubbles in glass, which add to their uniqueness and charm.
