Desiree Denmark Pottery Danish Table Lamp 1960s 1970s

Large vintage Danish ceramic lamp in an unusual iridescent dark red colour.

The design is from the 'Thule' range which incorporates inspiration from the reddish green slopes of the Scandinavian countryside, icy green waters, traditional folktales (saga) and indigenous symbols.

Features a shimmering satin glaze in a deep red colour with shimmering silvery highlights.

Made by Desiree in Zealand, Denmark, probably in the 1960s/70s.

Has manufacturer’s name and model number 2001 etched to its base.

Approximately 31cm high, including the original white lamp holder, and 19cm wide.

Excellent fully working vintage condition.

Because this lamp hasn’t been rewired yet you have the opportunity to choose the cable colour from a choice of black, dark brown, dark blue, light blue, old gold and burnt orange.

Will be rewired with high quality vintage style braided cable.

We can fit a British/Irish, European*, Australian/NZ or American* plug.

It takes a E27 lightbulb, maximum 60w (not included).

*If used in the USA/100/110/120v we recommend using an energy saving/LED bulb. E26 bulbs should fit but because they are 1mm smaller may need to be fully turned to ensure they make contact with the fitting. This lamp will take a European type/size lampshade with a ring diameter of 1.5 inches (3.6cm) or alternatively a lampshade that sits on the light bulb. See FAQs for full details.
