Vintage Dansk Designs Tiger Paperweight Silver Plated.

This tiger was part of a series of larger Dansk paperweights that have a two tone matt and gloss silver plated finish.

Very good vintage condition with some minor signs of age.

Approximately 6cm high and 9cm wide. Weighs 550g.

This cute paperweight is made of silver-plated zinc.

It was designed by award-winning Swedish silversmith, Gunnar Cyren, for Dansk Designs in the early 1970s and made in Japan in the 1970s/80s.

It has ‘Dansk Designs, Japan’ etched on its base, plus 'EPZ' signifying its manufacturing technique of electro-plated zinc, a technology that the Japanese led the world in at the time.

As well as looking great, these paperweights are extremely tactile and have a real quality feel about them. It would make a wonderful gift.

Dansk Designs was started in the 1950s by an American who toured Europe seeking out talented designers to produce a range of homewares he could sell to the US market. The range was designed to showcase Scandinavian design to an international audience and due to their wonderful combination of form and function Dansk Design items have become highly collectible including in their ‘home country’ of Denmark.
