Stunning very large, heavy, high quality handmade glass. Iconic 'knobbly' vases designed by Skrdlovice's chief designer Emanuel Beranek in the 1950s. We believe that these vases were produced by the Beranek Glassworks when it reformed.
Skrdlovice glass works, from the town of the same name, was one of the most renowned of the Czech glassmakers. It was formed as Beranek Glass Works by Emanuel Beranek and his three brothers in 1940. Emanuel's two sons Jan and Jindrich joined in the 1950s. Skrdlovice survived the Iron Curtain era under state rule and reformed in the 1990s as a private family company, Beranek, before succumbing to market forces in 2008.
