Asbo Stentoj Pottery Danish White Ceramic Table Lamp Bedside Lighting Retro Design
Vintage Danish Pottery Ceramic Table Lamp. Small Danish white ceramic table lamp.
Nordic white satin glaze table lamp updated with a vintage style zinc lamp holder and bright blue braided cable.
Made by Asbo Stentoj (pottery) in Køge on the island of Zealand in Denmark in the 1970s/80s.
Excellent vintage condition.
20cm high, including the lampholder, and 14cm wide.
It is in full working condition. It has been rewired with a vintage style bright blue braided cable and zinc lampholder. It has a British/Irish plug but we can fit a European*, Australian/NZ or American** plug.
It takes a B22 lamp, maximum 60w (not included) but we will provide a E26/E27 adapter (free) if you choose the European or USA region options. In the photos is a vintage-look LED Filament G95 ‘radio spiral’ bulb (not included).
*Please note that because it has a metal lamp holder this lamp needs to be fitted with a 3 pin earthed plug. If you live in a country that does not have 3 pin sockets then please let us know and we will change the lamp holder to a standard plastic one so that they can be used with a 2 pin socket. Please let me know if you are unsure about this.
**If used in the USA/100/110/120v we recommend using an energy saving/LED bulb.
A note on lampshades. We sell our lamps without lampshades but they are all suitable for them. Shading the glare from lighting is actually intrinsic to the Danish design and living (hygge) ethos. Poul Henningsen's classic PH pendant lamp is the perfect example of the Danish design approach to form and function - the multiple, angled layers of the pendant were specifically engineered to completely eliminate glare. If you would like to buy a lampshade to accompany your lamp we recommend the wonderful handmade lampshades utilising vintage fabrics by Dawn Witty - you can find her designs here: https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/WittyDawnUK
Note that we have attempted to show and state the condition as accurately as possible but this is a pre-loved, vintage item and some minor signs of age and/or use are to be expected. There may also be slight variations in the colours shown due to lighting, the camera lens and the device the image is viewed through. Handmade items may have slight imperfections, such as air bubbles in glass, which add to their uniqueness and charm.
