Danish Red Glass Hygge Lamp Candle Holder 1960s 1970s
Holmegaard Red Glass Hygge Lamp - Designed to produce a cosy glow
The Danes love their comforting, gently glowing light and the 'Hygge Lamp' was styled on a traditional light.
This vintage glass hurricane lamp is made to house a 'dinner' candle.
It is comprised of two parts, both of handmade glass.
Beautiful, vibrant red glass top half on a clear glass base.
The clear base is a candle holder.
A very light and delicate item.
Designed by Per Lutken for Danish glass makers Holmegaard in 1964.
Made in Denmark in the 1960s/70s.
When assembled it is 19cm high and 8cm wide at its widest point.
The lamp is in excellent vintage condition with no chips and only very minor signs of age.
It is a little rough around the base of the top half which is considered part of the manufacturing process as every Hygge lamp we have seen is like this.
Note that we have attempted to show and state the condition as accurately as possible but this is a pre-loved, vintage item and some minor signs of age and/or use are to be expected.
Handmade items may have slight imperfections, such as air bubbles in glass, which add to their uniqueness and charm.
There may also be slight variations in the colours shown due to lighting, the camera lens and the device the image is viewed through.
