Danish Blue Glass Pendant Lamp Holmegaard Kreta Style Ceiling Light 1980s Retro Scandinavian Scandi Design
Vintage Blue Glass Danish Pendant Lamp Holmegaard Kreta Design Ceiling Light.
Stylish high quality Danish glass pendant lamp, probably made in the 1980s.
Beautiful bright blue colour with opal white inner lining. It becomes a warmer glowing colour when the light is on.
The Kreta pendant was designed by Jacob E Bang of Holmegaard in 1964 and originally produced by Danish lighting company Fog & Mørup.
In the late 1970s Fog & Mørup went through ownership changes and no longer produced lighting. This pendant design was then made by another Danish lighting company in the 1980s and we believe this lamp dates from then.
Approximately 32cm high, 18cm wide at its widest part, 9cm wide at the bottom and 6cm wide at the top.
Excellent near mint vintage condition. Fully working.
Has a long cable to enable it to be hung low over a table or breakfast bar/kitchen counter, even if you have very high ceilings and wish to take the cable across the ceiling from the power source to the required spot as is normal in Scandinavia.
Rewired with 2 metres of black vintage style cable. The cable can be shortened as required.
Takes a E27 bulb, maximum 60w (not included). We have used a vintage-look LED filament G95 'Radio Spiral' bulb in the photos.
If used in the USA/100/110/120v we recommend using energy saving/LED bulbs. E26 bulbs should fit but as they are 1mm smaller may need to be fully turned to ensure they make contact.
Note that we have attempted to show and state the condition as accurately as possible but this is a pre-loved, vintage item and some minor signs of age and/or use are to be expected.
There may also be slight variations in the colours shown due to lighting, the camera lens and the device the image is viewed through.
