As many Danish homes don’t have light fittings in the centre of the ceiling, as is standard many other countries, floor lamps are routinely used as a main light source, especially is living rooms. When I moved to the UK ten years ago, I studied Electrical & Electronic Engineering. Straight after graduating, I got work as a technician, installing and maintaining the fibre optics used to broadcast sports events, primarily English Premier League football matches.
